First of all let me say hello to you all... Hello!
I'm a new member, so I apologise for being late. Would you believe that I never even thought that there would be a Staind.com? I know what you're thinking... "What a muppet!"... and you're right, I am. I apologise for that too, but I will never apologise for what I am about to say. Staind are the best thing to happen to a lot of us in a very long time!

Let's face it, we would all be miserable without their brilliant songs. A lot (If not all) of us are in our element listening to what I have been heard described as "depressing- slit-your-wrists-suiside-shit" (that to be honest has the complete opposite effect), but how many of us would have done just that at some point if we did not have Staind?
When you were at your lowest point and you considered it your only escape would you have?...

NO, BECAUSE YOU DID HAVE STAIND!

We all did. They showed us that we weren't alone. They showed us that there were others out there that felt exactly like us. Were going through the same things that we were. And they let us know one thing...

We need Staind.

(If any of this depressed anyone... Put on some Staind)

Hahaha Yeah Private I. You can't make people like songs, but they could at least give them a try. It's good that your mam can enjoy Staind's (amongst other band's) music with you and that you have a great bond with her. My girlfriend doesn't like any music that I like (apart from maybe 2 Staind songs hahaha), but I did get my mam's boyfriend and a friend from work into Staind...

Oh well, you can't win them all.

Yup...iz funny u know...my mom...she's always been into like AC/DC, OZZY, all kinds of stuff like that ya know..which is kool...my mom's my best friend..and I ain't ashamed to say it, she's always been there for me ya know?...but, I got her listening to Staind, and some related stuff, like Puddle of Mudd, Alter Bridge....and she likes it...she's kinda religious, but still a partyer...and so she likes something with a good message and like you said Stephen W. that's what really got her into it...cuz of the lyrics...and it's funny how the way it sounds (the heaviness) can draw people away. My mom even likes KoRn's Alone I Break...the only one she likes from KoRn mind you haha...but still.

Exactly Diandra. The fear of the unknown if you will in the case of people who don't really listen and understand the songs and so don't give them a chance. Even just the music alone without the lyrics is great. The peple who (although you can't blame them) only know Outside and maybe a few others need to listen (truly listen) to all Staind's other songs.

I'll bet there isn't a person in the world who can't relate to at least one of their songs.
