Hey guys, got another article to share, not just from another news feed or anything but another from this current European/UK tour. I'm not too big a fan of the forum so I thought I'd post here, but I use my Myspace more than anything else. I try to update as often as I can, but with work and other circumstances I unfortunately can't update it as much as I'd like to. Here's the article and afterward I'll post my Myspace link and if you're interested in friendship you're more than welcome. Anyway, on to it....

Wenn STAIND mal wieder auf Tour gehen, muss man hin. So weit, so Routine. Allerdings wird man ja auch älter, und es dürfte interessieren, wie sich die Rabauken von damals gehalten haben. Die aktuelle Platte kündet ja nicht unbedingt von Trübsal und Aggression und sollte beim Auftritt am ersten Februar im Huxleys auch nahezu links liegen gelassen werden. Die Herren wollten sich beweisen und zeigen, dass sie noch lange nicht zum alten Eisen gehören.
Bevor sich nach 20 Uhr die Türen zu Huxley’s Neuer Welt öffnen, sammelt sich ein dunkler Pulk davor. Nach und nach füllt sich das Haus und begrüßt als Supportact mit ENJOY DESTROY eine junge Gruppe von der Insel, deren Hard Rock dank eines hoch motivierten Drummers druckvoll angeschoben wird und mit von seinen drei Kollegen erspielten jaulenden Gitarrenwänden durchaus überzeugen kann. Aber spätestens Getragenes wie 'When I Choose' macht klar, dass das Ganze dann doch etwas zu abgegriffen und keineswegs so frisch ist, wie es die jungen Kerle mit ihrer typischen Mein-Freund-is-in-’ner-Rockband-Attitüde suggerieren.
Nachdem man die Fans lang genug hat warten lassen, kündigt endlich ein Blues aus den Boxen die Nu-Metal-Stars an. Das erste Label-Album von STAIND begann mit eben jenem Metalstück namens 'Suffocate', das da jetzt Jahre später wieder aufs Publikum zustampft. Sänger AARON LEWIS hat zwar inzwischen einen Bart, doch die schöne Stimme ist noch immer die selbe. MIKE MUSHOK und JON WYSOKKI haben sich die Haare wachsen lassen, auf dass man sie ordentlich schütteln kann und legen sich entsprechend ins Zeug, während JOHNNY APRIL wie immer stoisch bleibt.
STAIND verstanden es ja von jeher nicht nur, die Metaljugend zu beglücken, sondern auch jene, die Grunge nachtrauerten. Balladen wie 'Epiphany', die AARON allein an der Klampfe vorträgt, werden lauthals und textsicher mitgesungen. Da liegt das Geheimnis dieser Band, die die gesamte Klaviatur der Gefühle rauf und runter zu spielen vermag. So war es doch die Mission des Crossover, den geradlinigen, in sich selbst schmorenden Metal für jede Lebenslage aufzubereiten.
Was die neuen Songs von The Illusion of Progress anbelangt, erschließen sie allenfalls neue Emotionssituationen (z.B. 'Pardon Me') und werden auch kaum vorgetragen. Man konzentriert sich auf die alten Megaseller, so wie es sich die Fans wünschen, und ab 'For You' greift auch langsam das Pogo-Fieber massig um sich. Zum letzten Song legt AARON die Gitarre ab und heizt mit den grollenden Ansagen aus 'Spleen' der Tanzfraktion ein. Das alte Feuer der Jugend funkelt wieder in seinen Augen.
Nach kaum einer Stunde endet das viel zu kurze Konzert nach seiner Zugabe. Unplugged und ohne Mikro trägt AARON 'Intro' vor und bedankt sich anschließend bei der STAIND-Gemeinde für die anhaltende, ja eiserne Treue.

The first label album from Staind began with just that piece of metal called 'Suffocate', because the now years later and again zustampft audience. Singer Aaron Lewis has a beard now, but the beautiful voice is still the same. MIKE MUSHOK JON WYSOKKI and have their hair grow so that they can properly shake and lay down according to witnesses, while JOHNNY APRIL remains stoic as always.
Staind understood it was traditionally not only the metal youth to be happy, but also those who Grunge of persuasion.
