hey there - just wanted to check in and give an update of the european tour so far. the show's have been awesome!! it's really cool to be able to come to europe (seeing as we haven't been here in 3 years!!) and still be able to have great show's! we started out in ireland with performance's in belfast and dublin which we're really good. one of the best shows we've ever had was in dublin in 2002 - we still talk about it how when "outside" ended the crowd sang the song back to us unlike it's ever been done before or since. we weren't able to start the next song. i believe the footage actually made one of our dvd's - pretty sure the bonus footage on chapter V.
we then made our way to the uk for 5 shows where we hooked up with our friend's from seether again. it was great seeing those guys and always fun playing with them. a lot of these shows had to get moved to larger venues which we can thank our fan's for. they we're all really great shows. topped off by the final uk show in london which was awesome! we also got to enjoy a couple of day's off, one in glasgow and one in birmingham where we got to get out for a bit and walk around - saw a couple of movies (while they were still in english) and just enjoyed the city's.
one of the show's we did was in stockholm, sweden and we played an awards show. well, actually we played after the show and we got to play it with other friend's of ours in shinedown. it was the bandit rock awards which is put on by a swedish radio station - bandit. aaron actually gave out the award for best swedish rock group which went to in flames which was cool.
we then made our way back into germany for a day off in berlin (not really - it was a really long drive). the berlin show was really good and i got to catch up with a good friend and her family there and it was really nice to see them. of course this was the night of the super bowl so after we played we hopped into a van and went to the hard rock cafe to watch the game. it was good because it was broadcast in english - which helps since it's the only language i understand. it was a pretty exciting game, especially the 4th quarter. with the time difference here we didn't get back to the bus until like 5 am which made for a long day for our crew guys the next day in cologne. however, both that show and the one in zurich went really well. we also had a beautiful day in zurich - it wasn't very cold and the sun was out. it was probably the 3rd or 4th time we've seen the sun since we've been here.
now we're wrapping up the last of 2 day's off we had in vienna which is a beautiful city!!! got to get out, walk around and see some of the sites which was nice. we play tonight and then have a few more shows before we wrap up the tour in paris and head home for a bit to see the family. all in all it's been a great tour so far thanks to all of our european fans - thank you and we'll be seeing you again this summer for festivals.
