im really kinda nervous about writing a blog because i dont feel like my opinion should mean any more than someone elses. with that being said i would like to share a website with you that is startling to say the least. its i think as the people whose country this is we have a right to know the truth. whether you are a liberal(uggh) a liberatarian, or conservative there is no argueing that we are lucky and blessed to have this place to call our home. it truely saddens me to hear the way people talk about this country. it infuriates me to watch us time after time year after year put these corrupt, power hungry, bought and paid for puppets in charge of that which we take for granted every single day and then we complain about it while they suck us dry with overtaxation and over-regulation of our small businesses and our corporations in order to fund their own agendas wether they are in americas best interests or not. we have allowed our public servants to become elitists. we complain about the best healthcare in the world. people from everywhere travel here daily for our doctors and hospitals. we complain about taxes when we allow welfare to be abused to the extent it is,when we allow the government to keep growing and spending more of our money. we allow people to come here without going through the same process our families had to go through in order to be a citizen of this country. they take from the system and reap the benefits of the system without being a part of it. ALL OF THIS WE ALLOW. maybe if american history was still required in this completely fucked, government controlled education system we have, we would be a little more aware of what took place over the last 300 and some odd years for this to be our home. the "change" we all seek is not barrack we're fucked obama, its been right under our noses the entire time.......its called THE DECLARATION OF INDEPENDENCE ...hundreds of thousands of good selfless men and women have died protecting that document in the name of country and honor. what has happened to us........ we are afraid of work, afraid to fight, afraid to stand up and be proud of a country that our american ancestors, our blood, died to preserve. i have traveled all over the world and seen many cultures and many different systems of government and there is no place on this earth that i would rather call home than this golden land of opportunity that is the USA......i think dorothy said it best "there's no place like home" and i couldnt agree more. i am the american dream. i grew up in a trailer park just outside castleton VT. i came from( just getting by) lower middle class america and was given an opportunity that has snowballed into this. im no different than any one of you and could have been any one of you. i am america italian welsh english german russian and polish......can you say melting pot. throw irish and french in there for my daughters and thats about as "american" as you can get. i love this country and long to see us all pull together as one white yellow orange green red purple aquamarine magenta.........americans. im proud to an american......are you?

You never cease to amaze me Aaron. Now I know why I was captivated within a second just flipping through the channels years ago after the death of my only son caused by LSD. I saw you here in Memphis. You did an acoustical version of a Pink Floyd song and again I was captivated by you. You made reference to doing acid and listening to the song for hours. People think LSD doesn't kill but it killed my only son, left him brain dead, and then I had to remove life support and hold him as his heart beat slowed and then just stopped. I may be 51 yrs old but I know great music the second I hear it and just that one little sound I heard flipping channels on tv that night made me go back and listen to you singing It's Been Awhile - I was blown away and have been a fan ever since. Your songs are like my son speaking to me. Thank you for touching my heart and helping me understand the sadness and pain our young people go through in today's world and why they self-medicate. I hope you will check out my homepage and read the poem I left there for my son. If I could have anything I wanted right now I would want to sit down with you and talk then let you write a song about our Angels of Addiction. Please keep on going. Your voice is unique, your style is original, you say things people need to hear. Both parents and kids get messages in your songs.

I'm a disabled veteran I was in the Air Force from 97-01. I am on disablity ...the only thing I worry about is that if having a smaller government would mean I wouldn't get benefits or less benefits when I don't get that much in the first place. I don't deal with stress very well so I can't work. I would if I could I've tried many times ...I still feel guilty like I'm taking advantage or something but I try not to dwell on it. I do agree though that people don't appreciate the U.S. as much as they should. I used be like everyone else and complain but then I joined the military and got to see other countries and it really made me appreciate the U.S. more. I used to say to myself that I can't say the U.S is better when I've never been outside it...but now I know.

By no means am i a politician or someone who thinks they know exactly what will fix this country. imnot completely libral, not completely conservative. my agenda goes deeper... i want to help fix things so my kids dont make the same mistakes we have... i also dont want to leave it up to them to fix things i left for them. i dont belive taking guns away from people is the right answer, then again i think you should be able to say whatever you want in any forum, its my job to take care of what my childeren hear. now these arent exactly the points you are trying to make but i believe they make sense when you apply the principles to any descision. THINKING about the issues and making a descision based on the facts. not like weapons of mass destruction we think are there.... not knowing something or truely thinking about the issue before making a descision is deadly... at least our recent history has proven that. economic plans that are good for the short future.... like the relief checks... fun for now but the extra money sent out has hurt us int he long run. allowing people into the country that dont go through the proper channels... there are some who work hard and show initiative to make their life better.. then there are some that prey off the fact they can have kids and live off the system. so.. the short term idea is to build a wall... not much thought in that one. what about more security on the borders and track the people on temp documantation to see if they are mooching or working hard to support the people they love. The DOI was an ideal that came from men who thought before they acted.. the new the long term ramifications of signing it. that it was either the greatest stand against tyranny or a death sentence. none of the leaders have that kind of resolve anymore. example of not thinking: someone i worked with who is 38 yo voted in their first election this year. i asked them why they waited so long to register and vote. their answer was bc the president was black. i asked her what policies she agreed with. she had no answer.... thats is the most scarry thing ive ever heard... you elected a man the president of the U.S. bc of the color of his skin. thats as fucked as not voting for him bc of that reason. i know this person will bitch about him if he fails or doesnt do what she thinks he should. i belive this country was founded on and still represents the best aspect of all humanity... hope. i just HOPE people would pay more attention to what they are doing and gather facts before making choices. i love everyone here.... (whoo im a long winded fuck) lol

Thank you for SAYING it, plain and simple. We are the land of the free because of the brave and I CHOOSE to never forget that. Yet we all have our share of ups and downs, but it is up to us, and this great land of ours gives us so many choices. And that is what it boils down to...what do CHOOSE to do with all this opportunity staring in our face. We have all we need at our fingertips and can't wait on someone to hand it to us, we must CHOOSE to take control of the direction of our lives and our communities. I CHOOSE to: work hard, seek higher education to make me competitive for employment, vote, find my own tax loopholes, live within my means, etc., etc., etc.

P.S. I am so with you on the "melting pot". I also refer to myself and my son as "United Nations" for my bi-racial and his 6 ethnic backgrounds! ;)

ron paul woot woot!
the problem with mr. paul is that he makes entirely too much sense...

Just thought I'd add I thought it was pretty cool how features Ron Paul, who I supported during his campaign. I think we should cut everyone's taxes, but there would have to be spending cuts in government and it seems like nobody in Washington would dare to do that.
