I am in my mid thirties and still trying to get a grip on that. I grew up in the midwest USA, but I've lived all over the states and in Dublin, Ireland, for a short time. I live in Lawrence, Kansas now, though. Back to where I pretty much started. I have a three-year old daughter, a demanding job, and a fantastically inspiring muse. I have been married to an amazing, uber-tollerant, blue-eyed soccer playing architect-turned veterinary technician for eight years. My current eccentricity (there have been many over the years) is an obsession with the show "Supernatural" and all things Winchester. My argument? Anything that sparks imagination cannot be bad for you.
I like reading and writing stories that take you out of your situation for awhile. That's the amazing thing about writing fiction, I think. You give yourself permission to say and do and be things in a story that you might not dream of doing in real life. I simply want to tell a story and make it entertaining for the time that the words are in front of you, and make the characters real enough that you empathize with their situation. If you take anything else away from it, well, that's like...finding 20 in the pocket of a coat you haven't worn since last winter.

I posted a blog about my first Staind concert a few months back (when they opened for Creed in Kansas City), so I thought I'd circle back and share my experience of seeing Aaron in KC for the solo show. I simply copied what I'd posted on both LiveJournal and Facebook. Again, not sure who reads, but if you do, I thank you.

Right Here: First Staind Concert experience...
I have no idea if band members read these blog posts, or if this is simply a way for fans to gather, grinning, and agree on how much we love this music, but either way, I wanted to share a write-up I posted elsewhere (LiveJournal, Facebook) about seeing Staind in Kansas City on October 10th.
