This is part of our traveling wall. My son Jason is under Chris Farley to the right in the long hair and white tee shirt (second row - third picture. Next to Chris is Jennifer - my friend Sandi's daughter ( to the left of Chris Farley - first photo top row). The first picture on the second row is Lynn Swan - a famous basketball player who died on the court from a heart attack induced by cocaine use. His mom lost her other son as well. She gave a wonderful speech at the Vigil in DC.

Hope everyone is doing well. Working on several projects. We are marching across the Brooklyn Bridge in September to bring awareness to the disease of addiction and the need for better treatment facilities and education.

Our traveling wall for our loved ones which began at The Vigil For Lost Promise is in California this year, last year Chicago, before that at the DEA in Washington DC. Next year I think it is in Houston. I will post a picture a friend sent me she took of in in LA.

I also formed a new group called Parents of Addicts Unite for those who have a child currently battling addiction.

Let anyone who needs support know they can contact me anytime at my web site listed above.

Love and peace to you all.

Yes I know it haunts you forever. In my case it was my only son. As a parent you think you should have been able to help them even when you know you did everything possible to try and keep him from dying because of substance abuse. I am sorry for you loss. There were fives boys in their little group. I lost 4 out of the five. I buried my son and three of his best friends whom I love dearly. I can't tell you how painful it is to keep burying these kids because I loved and watched out for and protected all of them, not just my son.

I know all to well about losing someone close to you through addictions... I lost my biological mom due to a drunk snowmobile accident that she was involved in with one of her boyfriends at the time, and I sometimes still refuse to talk about it, because it's been that hard on me and I never got to go to her funeral to say goodbye. It happened when I was 15. I'm 30 now.. and the anniversary of her death was just yesterday, January 9th, 1994. I also know about addictions, because I'm in recovery myself now... all I will say. It's pure hell to watch one of your best friends slowly destroy themselves through addictions. One of my best friends relapsed and he's been drinking pretty heavily for the past few months and it hurts deeply to see him going back down that path....
