What happened??? I can not take it anymore.
Ok. This is the problem, Staind hit the music seen with a grunge sound that impacted my teenage years with a since that my life is not that bad, however, every time I hear a new Staind song i want to castrate my-self. Aaron Lewis is so happy in these new post-Staind songs. I believe that Aaron and the gang should throw in the towel, if they have not all ready, and change the name to Switchfoot like their lame christian "brothers". That way when the Jonas brothers have an opening they can play a tour with them. I almost hate to say that breaking the cycle, the second CD i ever bought was a trouble idea. Because this group with the ever so punishing sound that they used to enter the music scene with is now gone and now all we have is this ear raping, baby punching, lobotomizing sound that is new "Staind"...
This part is just for you Aaron, johnny, jon, and Mike, Quit making music if you are just going to lie to your fans and more importantly yourselves. You sold out....

You know at one point i remember Aaron writing "I hope my fans dont wish i am still as fucked up as i was then" . Sometimes when you grow as a person things change. im not telling you that you should appologize or go back to being a staind fan, but maybe he was all about singing the truth as he saw it. They are different now than they were ten years ago. Some of us have gone through horrible things that we had to use music to get through. personaly i believe we all change and if going about your life into another phase or staying where you are is right for you then go ahead. i will not judge you. im just asking for the same respect for ther rest of us whether we be band members or just somoene you knew ten years ago.

dude, the music has changed because the band has changed, they've grown up, they've matured, they're married, have kids, they're better musicians than they were. You can't force them to go back to tormented or dysfunction when aaron lewis isn't as angry as he used to be. He became a father to three little girls and trust me, when you have a kid, your entire life changes instantly and for the better. Aaron has finally embraced his life and he's happy and you can't say that they're music is worse just because it isn't as heavy anymore. I loved tormented and dysfunction and break the cycle. But they have grown so much since then, musically and lyrically and 14 shades, chapter v and illusion are all amazing records as well. if you don't like the music they make anymore, then stop listening to it and get the fuck off this site. This is for staind FANS not staind haters. and they are completely in a different genre then the fucking jonas brothers so don't ever call them a boy band, or compare them to the jonas's again. That is a disgrace, Staind is waaaay better than they are, and 3 number 1 albums plus a number 3 album respectively out of their last 4 is unbelievable. So fuck you and get the fuck out of here.

staind's music affected me back then and still continues to affect me every single song i listen to. Aaron is an unbelievable inspiration and to talk the way you did about him is completely disrespectful. If you truly were a fan even for a moment, you wouldn't ever do that.

thanks for your opinion, everyone has one...just like an asshole. i'm sure aaron will appreciate your opinion as well because he is just bad ass like that. but here is what i have to say....you are not a true fan, never have been. i think maybe you are stuck in a rut or a hole and need negative energy to feel good...and that happens to 16 yr olds lol. maybe you should find something better to listen to to satisfy those needs or possible dig the knife deeper as you castrate yourself. i think someone who truely appreciates music and artists can appreciate how an artist grows. we have all said it once and will say it til the day we die, the band is not in the same place now as they were 12 or so years ago. someone who can truely appreciate music can throw in the tormented album or the illusion album and still have that great affect that music has on a person. maybe i'm wrong, maybe i have grown as well as the band and no longer have the same anger they had and maybe thats why i understand. i used to think break the cycle was my fav album but the more i listen to the illusion of progress, the more i APPRECIATE where i have come today.
PS...are you gonna change your name to something girly once you castrate yourself? just curious. i think going from myles to miley would be a nice choice..maybe you could even catch a hannah montana show...hell i'll buy your fucking ticket...moron.

The guys grew up... we all grew up, things change and people change, and i'm glad their music evolved with them. Who wants a band that spews out the same shit album after album after album??
Aaron is obviously in a better place than he was several years ago, it shows in his lyrics, how is that lying to himself? that means he is being TRUE to himself and the rest of us.
It gives me hope and inspiration that one day I won't feel so bad... infact, I don't feel so bad as I did when I was 18 and their music gives me hope. When I was younger it was so good to have words to relate to when I was feeling so alone in what I felt, and now it's so good to have words to relate to when i'm feeling a bit stronger, a bit happier and less hopeless but realizing the world still isn't great.
Like everyone else has said, you're stuck in a rut, you're still an angsty teen inside... you haven't grown up. Your opinions show that and taking time out of your life to come on here just to bash the band also shows that. I actually really feel sorry for you and hope one day you can start feeling a little better... maybe you will after you chop your nuts off!

What were you doing 10 years ago?? Do you have the same job? The same income? I am betting no. You have grown (hopefully) in these years just like Staind has. If you dont like their music, move on, find your kind of music and forget all about Staind. Go find some more "baby punching" music that will make you miserable.

to bad you want to be a miserable person all your life. the luck should go to you not the guys in the band. I honestly did not follow them before and did not know who they was. They had a few songs out that I liked (newer stuff) and then I bought some older cds of theirs and yes they have I think fianlly found their way in life. They do have a life now. and evidently a good one because the music now is grabing more attention to newer fans like myself. Honestly I was wondering why I never knew about them before. After hearing some older music, which is good, but it is different .I honestly think they are right on track now and are going to really skyrocket, not to mention I think all the touring has helped. So dude good luck to you and god bless because your the one who needs it.

Wow! What a douchebag! Grow up! First of all, If you were a real fan, then you would know that it is Break the Cycle, not Breaking the Cycle. I mean, since that is your favorite album and all. Second of all, Why would you want someone to still feel like crap after all these years? Just because you do. Everyone loves Break the Cycle, It doesn't mean we don't love all there other albums, too. Staind has helped so many people, through so much in their lives. I am a better person, just for listening to them. Why are you a member here, if they suck so bad. Instead of running your mouth on here, maybe you should examine your life a little and fix your problems, which you obviously have. Aaron Lewis is a brilliant man. He has helped me through so much in my life. His words are like therapy. His voice is totally amazing. How could you say they SOLD OUT..The only thing they sell out is tickets and albums... Staind sells out show after show. They have no problem putting people in seats or selling their albums. Aaron writes the most unbelievable songs and I will buy every album, he ever puts out. They are going to continue to play what they want, What they feel like playing. That's they way it should be. I would way rather listen to someone singing shit they really feel, then what someone wrote for them. Anyone can sing a song if you give it to them. Not everybody can do what Aaron does..He puts so much emotion into everything he plays. They travel countless miles, just to play for us. All that time away from their family, When they don't have to. At least, They know who their real fans are and they appreciate us. They don't care what you think. They aren't trying to please everybody..Only their fans...Their REAL fans. Which obviously, YOU ARE NOT ONE OF THEM! Let us all know how that whole castrating thing turns out..I hope it works out for ya!

Sold out? I'm sick of hearing terms like that. Just because you might happen to dislike how Staind turned out, it doesn't mean they're sell outs. Aaron is in a different place then when Tormented or Dysfunction was out. Should he continue to sing about how terrible things are when they just aren't? That would be a lie and it would be letting down your fans. Why continue to portray yourself in that light for no reason?
As for roots? Oh cut the crap. What does that even mean? How do you know what their roots are? That's a personal perspective, not what you think you know. They make the music they want and if you choose not to listen, that's your deal. It's not "ear raping" you because why would you listen to something you continue to hate on?
Oh and by the way, life changes. People change as i'm sure you have done the same throughout your life. That IS "BREAKing the Cycle" just like Staind has.
