Yeah, what a pity. I was so psyched about it, as it's the only album that my collection is missing.
But ok. I'll be patient...
Any idea why this happened? I see no legitimate reason for such a large delay on a re-release of a nearly 15 y/o album! Damn Atlantic...
I seriously do not think that Tormented is ever going to be re-released. There is an interview with Mike Mushok talking about how bad he disliked that album (looking back at it). Aaron surely doesn't want to relive those lyrics and that sound. I think it has honestly been a hoax. I mean seriously could you imagine them supporting an album that they dont care for anymore? Can you imagine that retailers will carry an album with that cover art? IMHO it's never going to be released. Maybe I am wrong, but Aaron is recording in Nashville for his solo singles, Staind will be recording a new album late this year or early next year...where will there be time to support an ablum from 1996? I wish they would simply so I can own all the original CD's but sadly I highly doubt it will happen.
Do you really think that any record label cares so much about a band?
I thnk it's all about money. Tormented was re-relased in 2004 (i guess) and there was no need for band to promote this album, and it selled out as quickly as it appeared.
I respect the fact, that Mike don't like this album, and Aaron wouldn't want to relieve those lyrics, but hey, this is still a Staind history and i would really love to own this CD.

If you don't remember, I started the chat that of the rerelease May 18th, which I found on Amazon and Best Buy. Even though THEY might not like the CD, their fans are behind the CD, as you could see in the 2004 release, which went out like crazy, and if they did rerelease it, I'll bet it'll sell a lot also. I'm just mad that I found it to be released within a week, and now it's pushed back to the end of this year. :( Since I REALLY want this CD, I'll probably just buy it off of Amazon and when it comes out, IF it comes out, I'll buy another copy of it.
I agree with you dude. I was thinking, at first, a Staind summer tour to support the re-release of Tormented was a pretty kickass idea, but now with the re-released canceled, and with what you've said, I don't think Aaron would want to play a shit ton of the Tormented album live.

Yeah man, I appreciate that. It's not that I wouldn't like to own a Tormented album, but I care more about the band and what they want to play and write vs. them re-releasing old material. And to set the record straight with the other ppl about the re-release, it was put up for sale on the site, not in stores. When the demand grew for that album, they produced more to make up for it. Then they took it off. I know that record labels dont give a shit about bands unless they are making money in their efforts, but Staind doesn't (I really cant speak for them) want to revisit old stuff. It would be the equivalent of covering another band's songs. I know I know, they wrote that material, but they are pro-new stuff. Hence why they grow with each record. Tormented albums will surface here and there, but I dont ever feel that it will be official releases. I am grateful for any album they put out, but I want them to decide what goes and what doesn't. Let them make what they love. And also, I do understand where everyone is coming from and to some extent I do agree...but until the band says it, I dont believe it.

I am completely with you dude. Except for the part about Aaron's solo stuff. Last time I heard that it wasn't coming out this year b.c staind is going to or already is in studio now for a new album with a fall release or sometime in that time line. As for the tormented reissue you cant find it on Best Buy's website anymore. Plus why hasn't the band said anything about it to anyone? there would at least be a mention in an interview or maybe he would have said something during the solo tour somewhere or it would at the very least be sold through the web store.

I know where you're coming from, but I think the point of a "fan" of a band is to love just about all of their material, and also follow them in any which direction they go. Yea, Staind might not like Tormented, but they know good and well that their fans care about it because it's Staind and it was where Staind began as a band, so that makes it even more special to fans.

I understand the whole idea that you should let the band do whatever they want, but honestly, I don't think it's a lot to ask to just release the album. This is just my opinion...

If that record hits the shelves again, it's all about the money. Nothing else! BUT-Hell Yea it would it would be kick ass to hear Staind go back to the old school and promote tormented again but I can't see it happening. They are EXTREMELY capable of doing it, but they just don't care to relive it and that's understandable...
"Aaron Lewis from Staind who is in Nashville recording for his new album he had heard about the benefit and asked if he could be a part of it. Aaron sang his new song "A Country Boy is All I'll Ever Be" and also sang "It's Been Awhile". (ealier post) you could be right though, dunno.
Yea, I just decided to buy it off of Amazon, and decided if they do come out with it, I'll buy it again...
