We just went to Niagara to see Staind and had the best time ever. We decided to start the day by doing some sightseeing of the falls. We walked around for a while and much to our amazement we saw Mike and Jon doing some sightseeing of their own! We have never been to a meet and greet so this was our first time seeing them off stage. We were able to say hello and my girlfriend even got to take a picture with Jon.

The show took place in a casino and the venue did not seem like it was really the best for a concert. That didn't matter to us because we were able to just walk right up to the front and stand center against the railing. The crowd didn't seem to be all that into it (the guys next to me admitted they didn't even know who the band was but they got free tickets from the hotel as a comp). The lack of intensity made it even better because I felt like we were really able to connect with the band. We must have stood out of the crowd because of how much we were enjoying it. We slapped Aaron five and caught a pic or drumstick from each member. I don't think this was a coincidence and we honestly believe it was their way of telling us that they saw us.

I am writing this post in the far chance that Staind or someone who can communicate with them reads it and can thank the band for putting on an amazing show for us. It was one of the best experiences of our lives.

P.S. How often does Aaron do an acoustic encore with no mic of any kind? Or even sing the song "Intro"? It was so friggin sweet!

Aaron has been pretty much doing "Intro" with no mic or amp since I first seen him in concert.
I was at his acoustic show in Verona, NY at the Turning Stone Resort on Jan 19th 2008, and he did it then. Let me tell ya, it blew my mind the first time I seen and heard him do that, I was in complete awe. The first time I actually seen Staind play in Verona, NY on Oct 3rd 2008 he didn't do it then. However when I just seen Staind in concert in Orillia, Ontario at the Casino Rama on April 30th 2009, he did sing "Intro" with no mic or amp. It was completely amazing. So I think that he has been doing it for a long time at least 1.5 yrs.
That was awesome that you got to meet Mike and Jon, you are so lucky! Someday I will meet them, and I WILL pay for a meet and greet if I have to. You are right, the concerts are amazing, and words can't describe the amazing rush that they give to their fans, with every show that they play.
Great pics!! glad you had a great time
i drove 6 1/2 hours to see my boys and i would have driven another 6 1/2. the show was amazing. it was my first meet/greet. aaron blew us away at the end while singing with no mic. thanks to aaron him for launching a guitar pick at me, i luckily caught it. thanks to jon for tossing me a drum stick :)

oh yea, that waterfall thing was pretty cool too. actually i CANNOT wait to go back to this venue for another show.
it was sweet that's for sure..i'd seen aaron solo twice, but this was my first STAIND show..i'm still on a high from it!! i had never been to a show in the 'events center' either and was kinda of dumbstruck when i walked through the doors..it didn't seem like a venue for such a show but actually it was quite misleading..we were sitting in the 11th row off to the side..when the band entered the stage, my friend & i rose to our feet(the only ones to do so anywhere near us) and were showin some love until halfway thru the first song someone behind me tapped my arm and told me to sit down because they couldn't see..there was no way we were gonna sit thru the show so we ended up taking a chance & going up to the stage..someone let us stay up there and that's where we rocked all night..how can people sit to that?!? what is wrong with these people?
it was everything i could have wanted my 1st STAIND show to be and i'm glad to hear you guys enjoyed it just as much =)

You did exactly what we did. We have been to other shows around us at the tweeter center and we always get yelled at for enjoying ourselves. I always blamed the other bands they were touring with like Nickelback for drawing a boring crowd. The hall ended up working perfectly for us because we were able to go right to the front with the rest of the people there rocking out. I'm still on a high from it as well, in fact every time I see someone for the first time since the concert I always mention how I just had the best weekend ever!
What a great post thank you for sharing =)

On the fan club website there is a video of Mike and Jon at the falls.
once the initial po'd reaction to being told to sit down passed, we had wished we had thanked that person because we ended up having that much sweeter an experience by moving up front..it all worked out in the end, even though i couldn't enjoy 'falling' as i would have liked to..oh well, maybe i'll see you guys at the next one then..i'll be on the lookout..hopefully they come back again somewhere close by and SOON ;)
have a good night!!
