in my opinion i do not think Staind deserves to be an opening band...for example the tour with creed, by far should not be opening...i believe that every staind concert i go too i have an amazing time and i always hear a new song played live...previous concerts i have been to without staind i set there and thinkg god this is no staind concert...

dude i totally feel the smae way you do . about staind headlining the tour . how ever i was at the show on 9-12-2009 in atlanta . and i will fully admit that creed did kick ass . and that creed did put on a kick ass show , however its the fact that staind is comming with creed is probably the reason all these tickets are selling..........
you are acting like a total douchebag. i can respect opinions and points of views when they are made in a somewhat mature manor but your really just slamming people in this thread. come on, you're almost 40? act your age.

While I agree that Staind is a far superior band to Creed (this is coming from a big Creed fan...), in terms of album sales, Staind unfortunately doesn't come close to Creed. Staind's had more albums, but Creed's done significantly better. At the end of the day, the decision is made my record labels and the logistics are what matter. It's supply and demand economics. If Staind was still putting out multi-platinum records, you'd see them headline much more of their tours. Let's compare the numbers:

STAIND:

Dysf: 2X Plat.
BTC: 5X Plat.
14SOG: 2X Plat.
Ch. V: 1X Plat.
The Singles: No Info. Available
TIOP: ~360,000 albums sold (less than Gold)

TOTAL: 6 albums @ ~10.4M

CREED:

My Own Prison: 6X Plat
Human Clay: 11X Plat
Weathered: 6X Plat
Greatest Hits: 2X Plat

TOTAL: 4 albums @ ~25M
Damn, almost 40. Thanks for reminding me. Bummer.

Gotta give you credit though for the correct spelling of "douchebag", most folks on the web screw that one up.

Points taken right back though for the incorrect spelling of "manner". Thanks for playing.
glad you caught that, even though it surprised me

Agreed, they should be the main band and have creed open for them. The only reason I can think that htey are doing this is because they are trying to build a fan base and the more shows they do...the more fans they make....

this tour wasnt stainds idea. creed decided to do a reunion tour and wanted staind to tour with them, which made them openers. its unfortunate. but i guess the only positive way to look at it is that other bands know what staind brings to the table and knows they will help bring in an audiance.
Nicely put!

staind is bigger than most. And by bigger i mean humble. They understand it's an honor to SHARE the stage with another great band, and i really don't think they see it as them being an "opening" act. All the fans should take the creed tour as an honor that Creed wanted to share the stage with Staind and not anyone else! They chose staind, because they respect them and felt that it would be a great show. It's not about who's better or worse. Both of these bands are great and will probably make the rock n roll hall of fame, so in my opinion, to be able to see bands of this caliber together is an amazing opportunity, not a downfall for staind.
ANY CHANCE I GET TO SEE THE BOYS...I WILL DEF BE THERE AND BE GRATEFUL FOR IT!!! :)
I agree. I'm glad that they opened for Creed because seeing Staind and Creed the same night was euphoric. But I too was surprised that they opened for anybody. Just as a couple of years ago, they opened for Nickelback in Europe. They're too awesome to open. Definitely headliners imo. But like one of the other posters said, it's an honor to see them both in the same night.
Creed could never be an opening band!

Believe it or not everybody, Cherry's absolutely right here. The only band(s) that Creed would ever open up for at this point in their careers are: Metallica, AC/DC, Aerosmith (if they were to ever go on tour with any of these bands). They would possibly open up for Nickelback if it were an international tour. Creed has sold more albums in the U.S. than Nickelback has, but Nickelback has sold more albums worldwide than Creed has.

Anyways. Staind is the bomb and deserves our unconditional support - and I hope to be able to provide it whenever possible in the coming years. I'm grateful for any tours they go on, even if I don't like any of the bands who are sharing the stage with them. Knowing how quickly Atlantic Records neglected Payable on Death (P.O.D.) when they started to fade on the charts, I'm grateful for every tour Staind manages to be on the ticket for.
Doesn't make any difference to me who's playing in what order, just long as I got to see the band. I didn't mind so much when they played before Creed on rockpit.com. But I will admit Creed had a lot more songs than I thought they did and I remember them all having some sort of popularity back in the day. Do I agree with the price gauging? No, not at all.
I saw Staind on the Creed tour this past Saturday night. I agree Staind is too good to be an opening band but I'm glad they were since I missed them when they came through earlier in the year! I paid $200 for tickets just to see Staind. I hung around for some of the Creed show because they were better than I thought they would be. But Scott Stapp could take some lessons in being humble from Aaron. His ego was almost as big as the stage. The 10/3/09 setlist was:

Just Go
For You
Fade
So Far Away
It's Been Awhile
All I Want
Right Here
Outside
Mudshovel

The only ones I know for sure are the opening and closing song. I'm not sure about the order of the others. It was a GREAT show. I would gladly pay $200 and stand in 40 degree temps to see them again.
