opening band
in my opinion i do not think Staind deserves to be an opening band...for example the tour with creed, by far should not be opening...i believe that every staind concert i go too i have an amazing time and i always hear a new song played live...previous concerts i have been to without staind i set there and thinkg god this is no staind concert...

No shit man. It's dumb. I'm not really sure why Staind does this. They are clearly better than creed would ever dream to be, and they have the album sales to show for it. It's almost baffling that they are opening for such a shitty band like Creed. I didn't even know Creed was still together.
On top of that, it makes for a shorter performance... and the result of a shorter performance is Staind playing pretty much only their singles. And i dont blame staind for playing only singles, it's just what bands/musicians/singers do the most since they are more known among more people at the concert..
That being said, it sucks for the true fans... meaning that we know pretty much know all of Staind's songs since we've listened to all their CDs and this has led us to realizing how much better of a band Staind is than just their singles. In fact, most of us (I believe) would say that their favorite Staind songs aren't any of their singles... In fact us true fans dislike some of their singles because (a) we've heard them so many times and the radio ruined them (especially IBAW ughhh) and (b) We realize how much more Staind has to offer. Point is that most bands/musicians/singers make songs specifically to be singles. These songs differ from their other songs, but it's just how it is done in the music industry.
So all-in-all what I'm trying to say is that it's unfortunate that they aren't the headlining band because this makes for a shorter set-list, and since they have only a limited time, they play primarily their singles.... which the true fans have seen a bunch of times live.... we want to hear stuff live that we've never heard from them.. songs that we feel are much better than their radio-friendly singles.
Okay I'm done with my rant haha. sorry, i'm really really high. also, i apologize to those who don't agree with what i said since i used "we" and "us" so much.
p.s.- i'm going to the staind/creed show in kansas city OCT. 10. I'll let you guys know the setlist

i agree.
this tour wasnt stainds idea. creed decided to do a reunion tour and wanted staind to tour with them, which made them openers. its unfortunate. but i guess the only positive way to look at it is that other bands know what staind brings to the table and knows they will help bring in an audiance.

id have to agree with ya. i spent years seeing staind as an opener, and i was strictly there for them. finally nov of 08 i got to catch them headlining and have seen a couple other headlining shows since then. they are my favorite band, maybe i'm biased lol. i have seen creed years ago when they were with default, and again i was there for default more than creed. i have seen nickelback years ago when staind was with them too, again there for staind. either way, any minute i have to catch them is great. and i totally agree with the "god this is no staind concert" TOTALLY understand what you're saying there!

No one is forcing you into the venue, sheesh.
If you need to see them headline, then don't be lazy, get in your car and road trip it to where they are gonna be. But for God's sake stop complaining.

While I agree that Staind is a far superior band to Creed (this is coming from a big Creed fan...), in terms of album sales, Staind unfortunately doesn't come close to Creed. Staind's had more albums, but Creed's done significantly better. At the end of the day, the decision is made my record labels and the logistics are what matter. It's supply and demand economics. If Staind was still putting out multi-platinum records, you'd see them headline much more of their tours. Let's compare the numbers:

I agree! I don't care if Staind was opening for the Jonas Brothers I would still go and support them. I would leave before the fag brohers took the stage.

staind is bigger than most. And by bigger i mean humble. They understand it's an honor to SHARE the stage with another great band, and i really don't think they see it as them being an "opening" act. All the fans should take the creed tour as an honor that Creed wanted to share the stage with Staind and not anyone else! They chose staind, because they respect them and felt that it would be a great show. It's not about who's better or worse. Both of these bands are great and will probably make the rock n roll hall of fame, so in my opinion, to be able to see bands of this caliber together is an amazing opportunity, not a downfall for staind.

ONE POSITIVE TO TAKE OUT OF IT THOUGH!!! AT LEAST WE DON'T HAVE TO SIT THROUGH CREED. 210 bucks for my tickets and i'm leaving immediately after staind performs. yuuuup.

def not lazy, i live in wv, i have traveled to new york and ohio to see them as i also plan atlantic city and tx. guess not really complaining but just making a point as we are here due to support of STAIND. so YOU get over it. we will go to any and every show then leave when acts come on that we do not care to see. peace.

Opening or not I would see Staind every chance I got. I love Creed too. I am going to the show and can't wait to see them again. This will be a great concert...NO DOUBT!!
