Ok.. So I'm a huge Chevelle fan, but..

I've never seen them live.. youtubed them and I'm not impressed!! They have a new back-up guy that just plain sucks! Not the same without Joe... What do you think?

When my band opened for them and Staind, I got to see a couple songs from backstage. As much as I love their music, their performace was a bit...strange to me. Their lead singer would sing harmonies and let the bassist take lead--it was weird. They didn't seem to be the friendliest guys in the world either, but that's neither here nor there.
I've seen them twice. Once last year at Dc101's chili cook-off (when staind headlined), and at the HFSmas nutcracker- back when that was still in existence when staind and korn played. Neither times was I really impressed... but I mean no one tops staind, so my opinion may be biased.
Chevelle is very good live. It is pretty hard to produce their sound with only 3 guys. I have seen them 4 times and they have a live DVD. They are a real good band. Looking forward to them being on this tour. They are supposed to play some new stuff as well.
I'm curious to see how they sound as well Em. I was a fan back in the day but never got the chance to see them live.
they aint too bad Em....but like Jacob said in the first post, it was kinda weird seeing the bassist do the lead on vocals....but there's some tunes of their's that I like and sum that I could live without....if there's a young crowd there, they will be banging...
Thanks guys for ur perspective. I've heard they r pretty awesome live but I'm very disappointed with their sound. Pete's riff's r fucking sick but his vocals r way off.. Sounds to me like they r successful in recording but can't pull off the live performances.

Chevelle better pull thru 4 me or I might not follow them anymore... Unfortunately, live performances ruin it 4 me sometimes!
ive heard they suck live. look forward to seeing them though. some bands have made me like them more after seeing them live. some have made me not want to hear their shit again. we'll see
I think it's gonna be choice "b".

I saw them HEADLINE in a really small, down and dirty venue in upstate NY, and I was super psyched to see them. I wanted to love the live show, so my attitiude was adjusted properly, I was there as a fan, not a critic.

They sucked. Poor setlist (imo), very monotone, poor sound quality, and sadly, their opening act Sick Puppies blew them away.

Now people are saying there's a new guy in the picture that's even suckier??? This does not bode well.

But hey, miracles do happen, the overall show is so good that I'll remain positive and just hope that playing with bands like SD and Staind will make them want to step it up.
