The local record store here got my copy of Staind today, so I got to watch the DVD...didn't look like a very fun process, but I'm glad the album turned out like it did.

I'm not going to spoil anything, but I am going to say that I'm thankful that the band has continued to put all of this good music out for us for the past 17 years.

They (along with Seether and Cold, but mostly Staind) are the band that made me want to learn how to play guitar so I could play and sing in a rock band, so they were my main influence 8 years ago to teach myself how to play and write and still are today. I just hope that they continue to work through the differences that they had making this record and any past differences and continue to put out great music like they have from the beginning. I don't not love one song that they've ever put out and I just really want this to continue. They've changed and saved lives and been heroes to many including myself.

I don't really know where I'm going with this, but I do know there's been a lot of speculation that this is the end for Staind and it may be and it just as easily may not be, but I do know that I hope that they continue to do what they've done for their entire careers thus far and put out great music for us all to enjoy.

Rambling over.

I thought that the only way to get the dvd would be over the itnernet but if you can buy it in store that would work out better. But I do support the band man im goin to the show their doing in NY thurs!
wow i feel terrible for mike mushok and johnny k (the producer) after watching the dvd. aaron comes off as a stubborn dick in the dvd while mike/johnny are like "umm wtf, he's not even trying"

... with all due respect to Mike/Johnny - who are both brilliant and gifted people - how can they tell whether or not a lyricist is 'trying' to write lyrics? They have no way of knowing how hard Aaron is working inside his own head. A lot of the writing process involves just sitting in a chair, thinking. That's where the real creativity happens for a poet/writer - when you're just THINKING.

There's a great (supposedly true) story about a screenwriter trying to get a script written on a deadline. His big-shot producer kicks the office door open and finds the writer just sitting there, staring at the type-writer, doing nothing. The producer shouts "HEY, you are supposed to be working!" The writer says, "I AM working."

I personally think these are some of the best lyrics AL has ever given us. 'Failing' and 'Now' consistently fucking blow me away.

you can tell the lyrics were rushed

but you can't deny the greatness of Failing, Throw It All Away, Take A Breath, and Something To Remind You.    sorry bro shit is sick......but i agree some of the songs have lyrics that sound rushed...like Wannabe, Now, Paper Wings, and Not Again........IMO of course....

'Failing' fucking rules. So honest and raw ... I get something different from it (emotionally, lyrically) everytime it plays.
best song on the album by far dude....
