The DVD is posted on the front page of Staind.com
I just watched it twice n it's not as bad as people have made it out to be...The last five minutes of it made me cry but besides that it was good.

Permalink Reply by Adam on September 13, 2011 at 12:44pm Interesing indeed,at first everything looked ok and then "BANG" jon's beating the fuck out of his drums and shit hits the fan,I knew for a fact Aaron had hit a creative wall on this record and it turns out that he did, which i can understand that it must be hard to try and come up with new ideas when you think you have used them all, and as for johnny-k...the guy has my respect for keeping things together cause things looked crazy..
I loved watching the part where Aaron absoloutly kills "somthing to remind you" in one take, that shit was awesome. And then we have Aaron and jon having a little dispute about how things should go,and i though ther was going to be punches thrown if im honest but mike says that they always have arguments and it never comes to it....Also i thought jon was a bit of a prick when johnny-k tried to tell him about his drum timing and he said "I am a professinal and iv'e been doing this for 16 years and made 6 records" and all that bullshit.A part what made me laugh is were Aarons looking on youtube at some of the coments people make about the band..if im honest i wouldn't even let that shit bother me cause alot of people just go on ther to slate everything anyway...wannabe looked like a fun track make plenty of giggles and smiles in the making of that : )
Also Aaron had his solo record to promote so was the record rushed?? and is that the reason for ten tracks?? but i bet that shit was hard for Aaron cause he has alot on his plate with the solo concerts/record,and then the staind record but he is one hard working individual i'll give him that...lets just see were things go from here and hope for the best..

Oh, gotcha dude! :) Makes sense - don't know how I missed that.
And D283, couldn't agree more - everyone just seems to want the best for the band. The DVD obviously struck a chord with EVERYONE, which means it's fucking awesome. Just the notion of this band breaking up freaks me out, which is why I found the documentary so depressing at first. But the more I watch it, the more I like it. :)
BTW You all rock!!!!
Permalink Reply by CJ Meredith on September 13, 2011 at 6:19pm Wow ... awesome post, StAiNdNy. :) Yeah - this material definitely pushed them to the limit. One of the few things that survived my last house-fire was a wall-size poster of Staind (from '14 Shades' era). Jon is on it, obviously ... the poster sort of makes me feel weird now, for some silly reason, with him on it.
But then again, everything changes ... :)

Permalink Reply by Raina on September 13, 2011 at 9:38pm Well after watching the DVD twice and getting 4 hours of sleep to let it sink in my conclusion is that after 16 years Staind is still trying to satisfy the fans wishes. At some point we've all lobbied for a return to Dysfunction. They walked into that studio with that in mind. I dont think any of them had a clue what was going to unfold. So in giving the fans what they wanted they took on the task. After the previous 4 releases, which all went in different directions musically, trying to come in and take a single path with no aversions would and did push them to the limit, musically, and emotionally. That stress tested their drive and unfortunately led to Jons departure. Due to Jons departure it makes me wonder if the cd was worth it. In the end they may have created what could end up being their most successful CD, but at what cost. The credits summed it up perfectly...Staind IS Aaron Lewis, Mike Mushok, Johnny April, and Jon Wysocki.

You're absolutely right, D823. Thanks. :) I truly appreciate it. I guess I'm still a little shocked by him leaving ...
Permalink Reply by Heather on September 14, 2011 at 12:49am Very similar take, here. I belive Aaron has way too much on his plate atm, which probably was definitely one of the biggest points of contension in the making of this album, as well as what appears to be the internal destruction of the band. As was apparent in the DVD (w/the making of "75"), and as Mike said, the solo thing is something Aaron should and needs to do for himself, as well as obviously spending SOME time w/his family, and whatever else he feels the need to do for himself (hunting shows, political stances, wtf ever). And, no one can fault him for doing what he feels he needs to do for himself. But, he IS stretched out too thin, and something has too give. Sadly for us Staind fans (and his bandmates) it appears it is the band that is lower on the priority list, thus is what had to give. Between his obviously consuming stress level from being pulled in so many directions and trying to do so much, w/the pressure of stringent time constraints, and seemingly trying to make us die-hards happy (along w/proving the haters wrong), w/some of his bandmates probably felling a little (righteously) miffed that Staind and this album has seemed to be the lesser priority (and, due to his stress and looming deadlines, even less able to compromise and work things out w/them in making the album than usual) added to the already stressful process of making an album, in the first place, they're just so disconnected, w/seeming (and, understandable) pent up resentment. Yeah, that energy could make their playing the music live that much more real and amazing. But, it just really makes me so f'n sad and sick to think that to at least partly appease those of us that wanted more of the older, harder sound, the state of the band, now, can be attributed. I'd MUCH rather have never had this awesome album than have our beloved Staind in the state they're now in... I'd much rather them to never have made another album at all, than for there be what appears to be such resentment and disconnection towards and with eachother (or, anyone, for that matter)! I just love them all, and want them to be happy w/eachother, and w/life in general...
I AM still hopeful, though, that they'll work out and overcome their issues (particularly if Aaron gives himself a break by not trying to do so much at once all the time), yes, including Jon. I know...I know, but a girl can have hope, right? Maybe, if Aaron focuses on his solo thing (and/or other interests) for a year or two, or three, or whatever he wants or needs, after touring for this album is done, then maybe they'll be able to (and, WANT to) come together as Staind in a better state, feeling the magic together, again, and being able to take the expected head-butting, not wanting to compromise, and overall stress of creating w/others better, and UNITED. I WILL hold out hope, anyway. But, I'd be lying if I said I weren't so very sad w/what making this album has done. No matter how much I love the way it sounds, I'd truly rather it never were made, considering what appears to be the cost to the guys...
Permalink Reply by Raina on September 14, 2011 at 2:47am I COMPLETELY agree with everything, except the part about them not being able to be angry enough about anything now to write harder, angry music. Yeah, we won't likely get songs like "Break" or "A Flat," due to their no longer being in a hopeless, 'I'll show you' type of place lol. But, there's more to hard music filled w/righteous anger than that. I mean, think about songs like "Open Your Eyes," "Can't Believe," and part of "Spleen," all whose anger, disgust, and frustration can be seen as stemming from universal social issues. And, we all know KOAE's anger comes from Aaron's getting screwed during his home renovation. Those are just some examples of how there will ALWAYS be things and people that piss them off enough to get them angry (which they could channel into their music) no matter how old they are, or how happy they are w/their life in general. It's life. They don't have to be young and miserable w/life itself to write angry, hard songs, you know? But, no, considering where the anger, disgust, and frustration came from for this album, no matter how great it is, to me it was NOT worth it...
Btw, thank you so much for not neglecting to mention the whole Jon part, like I did. I realize after reading what I wrote, again, that it could look like I was just blaming Aaron's issues for the state of the band, and that was not my intent. Of course the stress (emotional AND physical) of being a new father and no doubt the stress of his then upcoming wedding, w/last minute details, etc, already had Jon way more on edge than typical, I'm sure. If I don't have enough sleep (particularly over a span of time), I'm such a beotch that I can't stand myself, let alone anyone else! Maybe Mike was dealing w/issues w/the twins or other family members, house, friend, or some other kind of issues we'll never know of that brought his tolerence level down lower than it typically is. However, I've gotta say that I feel that Johnny A. deserves mad props for seeming to be able to just go w/the flow and seemingly always just lets whatever roll off his back, coming off as so laid back and awesome. Rock on, Johnny!

See Raina that's what I said a few days ago on Facebook...This album to me was not worth it. I hate the album for what it stand for and what it has done to the band. Yes, it's a damn good album but in the long run, it was not worth it. They tried to please those fans that wanted the heavy shit to shut them up once and for all. Just because Aaron promised a heavy album last time n he didn't deliver, which was fine by me cause I love TIOP, doesn't mean he owes the fans that heavy album. Lets be real they are in their late 30's early 40's most married with kids, what the fuck do they have to be anger for??? If it wasn't for the tension, pressure and stress in that damn studio, we would have got the usual Staind album a few heavy n the rest would have been mainstream...That would have been a hell of a lot better then 10 songs of anger n hate. The DVD would have been like the past DVD's, Staind having a good time joking around and being their silly little self's, with a lot of weed footage. Ha!
IMO...Jon just wasn't into it maybe because he had a 4 month old baby at home? His eyes looked tired as fuck so maybe not getting enough sleep with a new born in the house then trying to keep up with heavy beats with no sleep would be an impossible task...Demanding boss in the studio then going home to a demanding new born doesn't work well.
The timing for this album was wrong, if they would have waited a few more months things would have been so different...So now we need to really put the blame on the label for giving them a deadline...end of story.

You don't have your copy yet?! Shit, man. Even with digital downloads and such, it's nice to have a hard copy in your hands, and on your shelf, and in your cd player ... somehow, it's still a different experience, even though the music/DVD is the same. :)
