Aaron

How did you get into Staind's music or first hear of them?

I had originally heard Aaron on the Linkin Park remix album, Reanimation, where Aaron did vocals on Crawling. I didn't know who he was at the time, because I only listened to top 40 radio at the time. Fast forward to 2005 when Staind released Right Here. G105 in Raleigh, NC(our top 40 station) was playing it a lot. I decided to check out more of their music to see what it was like. Let me tell you, I was hooked INSTANTLY. Now fast forward to 2008. I went to Staind's MySpace to put some songs on mine, and I saw on the calendar that they were coming to Fayetteville, NC. I thought, "Why would a big band come to a town like Fayetteville?" I bought tickets the minute I saw that. It was my first concert. The opening band was a group called State of Illusion. Great local band, set the atmosphere for Chevelle who came out next. I didn't know much of Chevelle's music except Send the Pain Below, but I stood up rocking out anyways. When their set was over, I felt like a little girl at a Jonas Brothers concert when Staind came out. I didn't sit down for Staind's entire set. Although my voice and neck were fucked by the end, it was still one hell of a show. I went to another Staind show in October 2008 in Greensboro. I was in the pit for that show. Staind impressed me even more. I will go anywhere in the fucking state of North Carolina, and cross into Virginia or South Carolina to see them if I have to. I now own every single album Staind ever put out, including Tormented and the Singles album.

Aaron, I know you check these forums every so often. I don't know if you would do this or not, but can you somehow just make a quick reply to this? If you can't or don't want to, it's cool. I hope to meet you guys at the next show I go to.

In '99 my brother saw them on the Family Values tour, he bought Break The Cycle when I was 8 and we listened to the whole thing through, he asked me my favourite song, i said the one talking about being outside, since that day, They've been my favourite band, Outside is still my favourite song, I can't wait till there back in Canada so i can actually see them without the concert getting cancelled

They're a local band.... I remember one day a friend of mine named Phil walked into school (6th grade.... 1998) talking about this band named Staind. I remember thinking they were like.. death metal or something at the time because it was by far the heaviest and angriest thing I ever heard. I pretty much dismissed it as a fail. Then, Dysfunction comes out, and my friend tries to get me into it. I listened to it, with Mudshovel being the only track that I actually wanted to hear again (eventually ~4-5 other songs grew on me). Then BTC was released, and I immediately became a fan of the direction they were taking. BTC was my favorite album for quite a few years. Then 14SOG was released... even better IMO... and so on and so forth. I ultimately have my friend to thank for being patient and persistent with me haha.

i first heard 4 Walls and Its Been Awhile on a mixed CD that my mom always played in the car when i was about 7. one day i remembered hearing "cause its always rainin in my head" and fell in love with Epiphany tho i didnt really understand it. me and a friend would always stay up untill midnight in the summer watching Staind videos and interveiws. i found The Singles in a closet with 3 Doors Down and The Fray. Our song was Mudshovel and when we had to part ways and i was packing we listened to The Singles for hours. my friend bought me Break The Cycle in 6th grade and i downloaded their discography last winter. i found Chapter V at a garage sale and got an autographed copy of The Illusion Of Progress at a show last April. the friend i mentioned earlyer now text each other lines from Epiphany and Outside. love them.

I'll never forget it when Family Value came out and I heard "Outside" for the first time. I fell in love with the voice and thought to myself who was this. I then started looking for other music by Staind and have been a fan for 10 years now. I also had the pleasure of meeting Jacob from State of Illusion recently at a show. I really like their music too. But, Aaron and the guys are truly one of a kind. Some of the nicest guys you could ever meet. I will always remain a true Staind fan.
