Do you think the next album will be a little heavier?

I was just thinking the other day that Aaron mentioned that TIOP was originally supposed to be a heavier album, but later became what it is. Don't get me wrong, I like Illusion...but I crave more of an edge on some of the songs too. I am not hoping everything is screaming and angry, but a good heavy sound for some of the album would be nice too. I also can't help but notice they are playing a lot of dysfunction songs as well as a few other heavier songs in concert. I assume this is because a lot of the newer songs, while good, don't really move a crowd.

I was just wondering do you think that Staind will get heavy again for the next album? What are some of the boards thoughts?

(my english is not very good, sorry xD... )

i agree. i love TIOP, but i also love the other 5 albums. a lot of people here (in response to those who only like the heavier staind) say that the band has matured and so their music. i totally agree with that, BUT i dont think that it means that they will not do heavy music anymore. they can play anything now, and i believe they will keep doing albums with variety, with hard and soft songs, BUT NEVER repeat themselves, as they have done until today. and of course, with lyrics that come from the heart. long live staind!
This is a hard question to answer to... The right answer would be like "I dont mind what they decide to do, I will support them anyway"... That's what I think, but a thiny voice inside my head hopes for an album a little harder...
But the thing I'm sure about is that I'm gonna love the next record, because Staind is Staind and their music is the best one around! :P

To answer your question, I really don't know, but at this point, I don't even care. Staind music is good no matter what they do. They never disappoint me!
I think the correct mix between heavy and soft rock is in Chapter V.
BTW my hoping is that the next record will be heavier than TIOP.
But like Milla said if Staind get heavier of softer I will still love them forever.
I think chapter V is the perfect mix 2.I like dysfunction and BTC, but the new album is great to.it's so hard...just give me a Staind song and I"m happy
I think for the next album, that Staind should go back to there roots. Straight up sick guitar riffs, Aaron unleashing his sinister growls. In my Opinion Dysfunction was there best album, followed up by Chapter V. But the next album should get more heavy
I think Staind's next album should..... uhhh... I don't know... reflect who they are and where they are in their lives at that moment in time? There's a novel idea. It's a good thing I don't need to tell them that though, considering Aaron has stated this for years upon years. I don't want a heavier and darker album if it's a charade. I want what's real. If they want to go even softer and mellower, that's absolutely fine by me. Chances are I'll love it. As Staind has matured over the past decade, as have I. I can't relate to 95% of the mood of Tormented/Dysfunction. But hey, to each their own. But seriously, I'd absolutely love to see these types of requests i.e. "I want the heavier Staind back" or "I want more screams" or "I want more drop d chords" just come to an end..... let them do their thing. If you like it - great, continue being a loyal Staind fan. If you don't, move along.....
agreeeeeed.

I hope they do maybe something more rocky that will get the fans jumpin.
ill love anything they do regardless, but in my opinion break the cycle was the perfect middle ground, it had the heavier songs like can't believe and for you, to the lightness of Epiphany and Outside, i think its the perfect balance, however i love everything by them
Amen to that.
