Anyone else dislike the direction of Aarons Solo shows now?

Luckily, when I saw Aaron in july, it was mostly Staind, covers, and a few country songs. Now it seems like its 75% country, with a few Staind songs and Covers. The "wow" factor to me atleast of seeing Aaron acoustic was all those awesome Staind songs stripped down and played. Seems like thats a thing of the past at this point though... Wish he'd dedicate some tours to strictly country and some for just Staind stuff...

At the Aliante show he told people who were yelling for staind vs country he was phasing it out and this is a transition that soon all his solos will be country. I am not a country music fan so I am assuming this is my last solo show to tonight (I bought ticket before he changed music)

Dang, that sucks even more that he's publicly saying "Hey listen, only come to my shows if you want country"

That REALLY sucks... I can honestly say I enjoyed Aaron acoustic as much if not more than seeing Staind. I don't know if it's as easy to meet the guys after a Staind show as Aarons acoustic shows, I also like how Aaron came to my little town about 30 minutes from my house, Staind only plays big citys now really.

Lose Lose situation IMO, BUT because Aaron Lewis has his name to back him, he certainly won't lose any tickets i think.

i saw aaron in july in myrtle beach....and was surprised he really didnt play any staind songs lots of country or country covers and some "wow" is covering what i think he is songs....if ghis shows go straight country then i will not attend because that my personal preference and will opt for a staind show....i'm not saying his show is bad i like that he is beginning to seperate himself...its either staind or aaron lewis to each own i guess.
So the show just ended and it was incredible. Yes the entire first part was his new country album but then he sang a ton of stained songs and 3 encore songs all staind. It was probably the best show I've been to, minus the crowd. Alcohol you should need a different kind of license to be allowed to drink, jerks.well anyway was great so maybe he'll continue to do half and half

fuck aaron lewis' country shit. it's god awful and his true fans really don't like it, but hey, it's attracting a new crowd for him. he's making more money this way tapping into the country scene. let him make his money off the bullshit it's all good.

layne staley would roll over in his grave, point, and laugh.

but remember guys, this is just my opinion. you don't have to get all butt-hurt about it and feel like you have to defend the man. it's just my opinion. in reality, he can do whatever the fuck he wants to do!!

i don't mind the country...i like it.  i get tired of the bus driver sidekick.  that sound get's annoying.

Its all good!

I wanna see Aaron truly SOLO, without Ben, doing just Staind songs.

Prolly never gunna happen again though. If he cares about he die hard fans so much (see "Staind" album) then he should dedicate certain tours to country and just Staind stuff....

No one really likes his country as much as he claims, its the die hard fans continuing to be die hard fans and supporting any work that he does. My mom listens to country radio alot and not once have I ever heard Aaron Lewis on it....

I'm sorry but I have to agree here.  I've been to 15 Aaron Solo Shows and 14 Staind shows and I'm a fan that actually tended to enjoy the solo shows slightly more (which is saying a lot cuz there's almost nothing better than a Staind show).  One of the best parts of how Aaron's solo shows used to be structured was that there literally was NO setlist.  Now there clearly is one, and if there's not an official one, he has 14-15 songs he KNOWS he's going to play.  Why have Time After Time, What Hurts the Most, and a couple other covers been the SAME songs he plays EVERY night.  Aaron has readily admitted to knowing like 300 other songs... why doesn't he mix it up every night anymore?  He used to hear a song he hadn't played in awhile and then play it.  Now it's the same 3 covers, the same 3 teases and basically his solo stuff.  I wonder if Ben plays a part in this.  Can Ben just roll with literally anything Aaron plays? Cuz maybe that's why the setlist is more structured now.  If Aaron brings out an old song he hadn't played in awhile randomly, maybe Ben can't catch on.

I also am a little tired of Ben.  He should be used how Aaron used Chris Ballini - come out for 5 or 6 songs and that's it.  But I don't think he's going anywhere.  All Aaron does on twitter and facebook is promote Ben and ask us to follow his page.

Lastly, all of these new 5-6 country songs that Aaron has played (The Road etc), are actually REAL country songs.  What happened to the notion that Aaron writes songs that are normal acoustic songs, but then you add in Ben's part and it has a twang of country in it?  Now he's just writing straight country songs?  These songs not only aren't very enjoyable, but they don't showcase Aaron's true talent - his VOICE...when he hits high notes and sings the hell out of certain songs.  Anywhere But Here is obviously an exception and that's been around awhile.  Whatever happened to Angel and Sleeping at the Wheel?  Much better than this stuff... the first solo CD was great... songs that could have a little country but were Aaron songs.  This stuff I really don't like.

Couldn't agree more!

I agree with all of you as well. I've been to three Aaron Lewis shows and they have all gotten progressively worse! The first one was amazing! There were covers galore and the staind songs sounds awesome acoustically. Then the next one came and it just wasnt as good, but I still gave him the benefit of the doubt because of who he is and how much I respect him. Then came the third show. I literally drove 6 hours, because my girlfriend bought me the tickets for my birthday. I was pretty excited, then the show started and this fat dude comes out playin country shit and I was immediately annoyed. The entire show continued that way and we ended up leaving early. 6 hour drive just to leave early... & I definitely agree with you guys that he needs to clearly separate what he is going to play during each tour. If he is only going to sing country, why not tell everyone that? I can't stand country! I believe that I could write 500000 country songs in like an hour, because they take no effort what so ever. That might be an exaggeration, but cmon we all know its simple as shit. People loved to hear him sing covers and old staind songs. We all agree with that & now thats gone. Now its country boy and fuckin Massachusetts all fuckin night. Its just terrible

"Aaron Lewis Solo Show" doesn't exists anymore. We have to understand that now reading "Aaron Lewis" anywhere is like to read "Aaron Lewis Country Side".He plays what he likes to play.He doesn't play what we want to hear anymore.I just accept it.Sad but true.
