Aaron really needs to lose the guitar on the live show

Anyone agree? it takes away from the live show SO much. all he does is just stand there now like a statue. if it wasn't for mike, it would be so fucking boring watching them live.

I miss the old days when he would actually put all his concentration on singing, walk around the stage, bend over, etc. etc.

The thing is that it's not even necessary for him to be playing the guitar. I mean it would be cool on a couple of songs, but not the whole fucking show! it's just waaaay too fucking boring.

LOSE THE GUITAR AARON, WE ALL KNOW YOU CAN PLAY IT, BUT WOULD RATHER WATCH YOU ACTUALLY PERFORM A LIVE SHOW, NOT SIT IN A CHAIR LIKE YOU DO IN THE STUDIO.

I agree, we love the energy of him running around the stage and getting people to go nuts. use the guitar for acoustic shows only.
im a bit confused by this.....did i ever run around the stage and get people to go nuts?
lol. that will sooo never happen. it doesnt matter if ur sitting down playing a solo show or rockin a stadium, u perform from ur heart and if he cant feel that i feel sorry for him

well.............this is something ive been dealing with for my entire carreer. unfortunately youve got it all wrong. back in the day when i would aimlessly wander the stage admiring my shelltoes lol that was fake that was forced that was everyone telling me that what i brought to the table wasnt good enough that was everyone telling me to change my style whiten my teeth lose my friends....not be me. i didnt give in to them and im certainly not going to give in to you if you need visual stimulation to be moved by music then maybe staind live isnt for you. i do appreciate you as a fan cant say the same of your opinion. last i checked music was for the ears and not the eyes but listen, when we start sucking to your ears you let me know ;-)
Everyones a critic eh!!!

haha niiice! really from aaron? i know all the completely obsessed (as i used to be during the dysfunct/btc days) people are trying to lash at me for stating my opinion... as i would've done back in the day as well.

all i was trying to say is that IN MY OPINION, i enjoyed aaron walking around and looking at his fans who have been waiting for hours and paid 30-40 bucks to see him/them. sure, a concert is more for the listening rather than the seeing, but it just takes a way a bit IMO. I've never been more struck than when aaron looked me in the eye (front row) singing some lyrics 5 feet away from me. With the way security and stages are set up now, it makes the band "so far away."

and as for : "when we start sucking to your ears you let me know" .... that will be never sir.

this thread blew up into such a big deal, sheesh maybe my opinions aren't welcome unless they are positive.

Stop beating a dead horse!!!!!!! lol... Im glad on this tour he's using the guitar less though.. 50/50 seems good
I have to disagree...He is amazing no matter what he does...I honestly wouldnt care if he was sitting around in his underwear scratching his ass...I would still enjoy his shows. Its AARON LEWIS!!! Its the music, and lyrics and his voice that are the heart of it all. Not whether he can jump around like a monkey to entertain you, True fans are true fans...pick another band to follow. He's got plenty more to take your place. I just saw him in Peoria, IL and he did all you described and more. Just my thoughts ;o)
Dont ever change who you are Aaron. WE are the lucky ones to have you and your music in our lives. I thank you for taking your time out after the shows to meet with your fans, no matter if you're tired, sick...etc. Music is about listening, not visualization. Even though I love seeing you in person. it makes it more real, I guess. I told you before and i will say it once again...you are amazing!! Stay strong! ;o)~

I totally agree with you, i think that he shows his emotions incredible well like that, i like it when he plays the guitar!
And some songs he doesn't play the guitar, especially in the end of the concert he walks around bending over, reaching out for the fans. As you said, they evolved throughout the years, and so have we! I love their concerts now, they're amazing.

i actually have to disagree. the shows i have been to he walks around, bends over, all the things you are talking about. but i think singing with the eyes closed and playing the guitar is a great performance. the emotion pours. i could watch that shit for hours. have you ever thought what is like on the road and doing shows every single day?! that shit sure would get to me...i wouldn't even have the heart to finish a damn tour. we all have our opinions here, thats what this place is for. do i think the band is in same position they were back in the 'old' days from things like tormented to break the cycle...no. neither am i. the band has grown as well as myself who has been listening to them back in those 'old' days and i'm still their number one fan. aaron could sit there with a guitar...run around the stage...either way i don't care. i'm there for the music, the words, and the voice which is what touches me most....not whether its coming from a live or animated statue.
he did 3 songs w/out the guitar....out of about 16 songs....the good old tunes...and he didnt look outta place either way...good mix..

you're totally off from the point. that's not what i want. i want aaron lewis from STAIND. not pop band song #9 from TIOP. i want what i love aaron from. aka, staind. the name staind. what the name staind means is RAW. raw ass tracks. raw ass guitar. not giving a fuck. straight up playin. not sitting around feeding the media the bullshit it wants to be fed. i love staind as much as the next guy, but i think i am brave enough to spit the truth. everyone loved stiand when they lived up to the name "staind", but there is a diff kind of love involved with an "aaron lewis and crew". it's like day and night.. new staind and old staind. if u dont agree then u arent being honest to urself. im not saying its day and night like good and bad. i think they both good, just in they own way.

Hmmm, Its called progress I guess! Things don't stay the same. I'm being honest with myself here, I like them as they are simple as that.
