Well my fingertips feel like they are going to fall off...but I started guitar lessons yesterday. My husband got me an acustic Fender for christmas along with some lessons. Its not that I thought it was gonna be easy, but im only on the first string, trying to master it, and i keep telling myself "there are 5 more to go sister"! Damn...I have always loved to see someone rock the guitar, but never did I realize how much time and committment goes in to playing it! So kudos to all who can do it, and thanks Aaron for inspiring me to want to play in the first place...How awesome to be able to hold an instrument and play something that comes directly from your heart..or the root of your anger, or wherever music comes from in different people! If anyone has any tips for beginners, please let me know, and wish me luck! :)

Good Luck!
I've been playing for about 3 years now and it still is a challange. But I love it and will never stop!
the only thing i can play is epiphany (barely lol)...haven't had lessons but would love to have the time and $ to learn.
It makes it easier to practice when its something I want to do....every practice gets easier...so im keeping at it! Maybe if I keep it up I can reward myself with that Aaron Lewis signature Gibson when they come out with it!
thanks soo much! Im having fun with it!

it will eventually get easier on your fingertips... I've been teaching myself guitar for the past couple of years and can play quite a few riffs and some chords.. and it takes time, but U will get to the point where it won't hurt your fingers as much. I have smaller hands so it hurts like hell to stretch to play some of the chords, but don't let that deter you from learning...And when I play and can't get a chord or riff right after a few tries, I tend to get frustrated and I want to just scream and throw the guitar, but I don't dare throw my guitar... I love that baby... it looks like a Gibson SG, but it's not... it's a silvertone by samick.. not too bad for a starter electric guitar. I got it for free along with a nice lil marshall Amp... I'm saving up for a Ibanez acoustic electric guitar and also a better electric guitar and I also want a bass guitar and amp... so good luck with learning to play and with the lessons. I dunno what lessons cost where u live but they are $15-20.00 minimum for 30 min!! kinda expensive for me right now, so that's why I've been trying to teach myself to play... I think I'm eventually going to start taking lessons though, so I hopefully get a lot better at it. I bought myself this cheap little black student acoustic (think 'kiddie' sized here) guitar with flames on it a few months ago and I love it... it's easier to play than my electric one is....so I'm thinking that a full size acoustic will be easier to play than my electric... whenever I'm able to finally buy it.

Good luck to you! I've been trying to learn for awhile too, and I know how difficult it is. I'm always amazed by great guitarists, especially those that can sing and rock out at the same time!

Alex
yeah, lessons here are 15$ for 30min, and my instructer is a stickler...you gotta be punctual, and he doesnt go over not one min, so if your in the middle of something when time is up...well time is up! But ive already learned sooo much..but my fingers are so freaking short that its hard to stretch! LOL But i play till they are numb, and then I play some more...it will get easier. Nothing worth doing has ever been that easy I dont think, so although I know it will be awhile before im playing live or anything, hehe, but its fun! Ive always loves the sound of an acustic guitar over an electric....so soothing. Thanks for the good wishes, I need all I can get!

anyone know the tuning to fill me up acoustic and the chords,im only new to guitaring but getting there, would be appreciated ?
Been playing for 7 years, am self taught and also play piano/keyboard.
Hey there. I've got a perfect picture here (taken by my sneaky boyfriend haha) to describe how much I love to play my guitarr. Was really tired and fell asleep when I started to play with closed eyes... It's a really old and cheap guitarr but I'm just waiting for the Aaron Lewis signature Gibson guitarr to come out, assuming the rumours about that are true... And the fingers will get better in time, just keep on practising and you'll improve on all aspects. I'm self taught as well, and frankly don't see a point in taking lessons. It's all about feel, and with youtube and all tabsites around today you can learn it all by yourself. So good luck and keep on playing =)

hey i've only been playin for a little under a year, i mostly go off of online tabs and teach myself. check out this webiste it has helped me a lot!! www.freeandeasyguitar.com Good luck!
