I was wondering if anyone knows anything about the upcoming aaron lewis cd. If it will be just him acoustic or him plus a band. Staind has talked about recording an acoustic ep and than starting from where they left off on there last lp. So if it is the members of staind playing the instruments on the cd it will be interesting whether it is titled as aaron lewis or as Staind. If it is just aaron lewis they will be sure not to have this confused with other staind stuff. Also many of the songs rumored to have been on this cd (tangled up in you, something like me) are on stainds new cd. If it is aaron lewis and the cd does have bass drums etc.. would aaron not use his own band mates? Any insight would be appreciated

From what I understand it will all be Aaron. He can play more than just guitar, he can do piano too.

I hope we see some Aaron Lewis, featuring Mike Mushok. but I dont know
I know aaron and mike are good friends but i would think mike would be the last band member on the cd considering aaron plays guitar.
lol aaron doesnt play near the level mike does. mike is a brilliant guitar player. aaron is just good.
Aaron's solo CD will be just that...SOLO (although I'm praying Chris Ballini will be featured on it!). Anything w/all the guys from Staind IS Staind, plain and simple.

Many of us have been speculating for a long time that SLM, Tangled, and others would most likely be on his solo, for many reasons. BUT, it was all purely speculation. SLM was originally a Staind song (full band) that didn't make it on Chapter V, so it's not a shock it's on the new Staind CD. Nor anything else Aaron writes, since it is his and the rest of Staind's decision what they use for Staind, and then his for what he uses on his solo CD.

I agree with u Raina... and I also hope that "Massachusetts" makes it onto the solo cd too....I REALLY like that song. I'd like to see tangled on there as well.... that would be great!

Well, I'd be willing to bet just about anything that Massachusetts will be on there. But, I hope Tangled ISN'T, since it's on the new Staind album. We'd already have it, and it would take the place of another song we don't have.
I wonder who will be putting out the solo CD cause I know they are switching over to roadrunner after TIOP is released, So would they be doing that one two or would he put it out himself.
I read in an article when before staind recorded tiop when they still thought it would be their heaviest album yet, that the solo cd would be the way for aaron to write the type of acoustic songs he likes writing. They gave examples of ibaw, outside, and so far away... among others. So it would make sense to have a backing band. Was chris ballini the bassist of j-cat? If he was on the cd i think that would be a diss to Johnny april unless it was just for a song or two.
Aaron will put a CD someday but a DVD is in the works now from the recordings at Mohegan.

Yes, Chris was in J-Cat, though I believe he played guitar. He also toured w/Aaron extensively for Aaron's last solo tour, and Johnny didn't have a problem w/him playing bass for him in Africa when they did that show. Also, he's working w/them on tour right now. BUT, even if it weren't for all of the above, I would think it would be much more of a kick in their faces to ask them all to be his band on the record, but call it an Aaron Lewis solo album, and not a Staind album. That's just crazy! However, since Chris and Mike play totally differently, even disregarding all the rest, I can't see Mike being upset by Chris playing on any or ALL of Aaron's solo songs. Their style of playing couldn't sound any differently!
Good point about asking them to play but calling it aaron lewis. But i can't see how they would be upset if it were me id rather he ask me than have someone else do it. Also how would you describe mikes style versus chris' i havent heard much of chris.
Not being a guitar player, Idk the right words to describe it. I wish E-Rock would come in here and explain. But, if you're looking for one sound to be different from one you already have w/someone else, why would that someone even want you to ask them? Like I said, Chris plays totally differently than Mike. I mean, if his solo stuff sounded just like his Staind stuff, and he had someone else to play in Mikes style, I can totally see that. But, if you ever heard Chris play w/Aaron, you'd know what I mean, and I believe you would see that Mike would be hard pressed to be offended.

Like I said, not knowing ANYTHING about guitar playing, I could be totally off. But, I think Chris may play more of the rhythm guitar style, while Mike plays more of the lead guitar style? Man, I wish E-Rock would come in here and answer this correctly! 'Cause I could be giving you a VERY wrong explanation of musical styles, being such a layman.
