2/14 show at the Borgata disappointing

A am a huge Staind fan (been to numerous shows and meet and greets ) and have been to 3 other solo shows of Aaron's). Aaron's solo shows in the past were amazing and his connection with the audience is unprecendented. It appeared as if the shows were a labor of love and almost therapuetic for Aaron. To hear him singing covers and enjoying himself made the audience feel as if they had witnessed something really special. This was the first time that I got the impression that this was just another gig. The passion was gone and he was looking at his watch the entire night (giving the impression that he was punching a clock). To quote Neil Young "it started off slow and fizzled out altogether"). The set list was basically "Staind lite" (with one amazing Nirvana cover). One of the highlights was Aaron calling Otan Vargas onstage to sing a It's Been a while" (will someone get him a record deal already!!!). I just hope in the future Aaron goes back to his old ways as it is truly something that very few entertainers can pull off.

You weren't by chance sitting in section 300, Row N, or maybe O were you? 2nd row of the section. left of the stage??? Dude... Aaron was just beat up. He tried. Yeah, he looked at his watch but don't look too deep into it. He looks at his watch all the time during shows. How many times did he say that Otan can definitely do a better job than he can tonight. He came onstage with a cup of tea. I think you have to give him a pass on this one. I was at both nights and he was slightly better Friday but in trying to belt the songs out Friday night I think he cut into his voice's ability for the Saturday show. Sorry to be an Aaron apologist, but ya really gotta give the guy a break. He needed to get home and he was road weary... that was also the reason for the set list. All that said, you're right... wasn't his best shows... but don't think he'd argue that fact. We'll live.
I don't see how that show could be disappointing.. I would have loved to have been there. I once said on Otans page that I would pay to see him sing and pixie you were lucky enough to witness that. I don't think you can say this guy is a true fan. Cuz he doesn't realize Aaron is HUMAN and as we humans do get sick, tired and run down. How bout you go play as many shows as he does and see how u do night after night.. It's real fuckin talent to be as great as he is time after time... If i were there and he wasn't at his best I would just appreciate the fact he was still doing the show and just take it all in and enjoy being there with all those other staind fans... And it's true he is where he is cuz of HIS MUSIC!!!! AARON FUCKIN ROCKS!!!!

Disappointing?

I was there for the two night and i really didnt think it was disappointing... Maybe cause a dick was keep on yelling behind us but THATS IT!

Aaron Lewis DOES NOT have to make covers!!! Have you heard what he said yesterday?? He is where he is because of HIS songs, not because he's singing some Nirvana's or WHATEVER covers...

To me, this show was awesome because Aaron Lewis was on stage, playing songs...giving Otan the chance to sing for us...

I really dont understand....Oh well.....

it was "fucking hardcore" ^^
I could tell Aaron's voice was strained but if anyone thinks for a second that he didn't try his hardest, than they are crazy. He always tries to put on a great show for his fans. I personally love every minute that I'm in his company. I wouldn't even cared if he just sat there and talked all night. I enjoyed listening to his rant on politics on Saturday, and I think he's spot on.
Of course Otan was the highlight of the night for me as well. I have it recorded and am uploading it to youtube now. I'll post the link soon.
Great meeting some more of the Staind family in person. See you at the next show!
I for one am NEVER disapointed, I would go to the ends of the earth to see him! I was there both nights and thoroughly enjoyed both shows. Yes,his voice was strained but I never tire of hearing him sing. He could sing the alphabet and I'd be happy!
Sorry to hear you were disappointed, but I'm sure you can sympathize with Aaron's situation. I'm sure he's still somewhat jet-lagged from the flight home from the Europe tour, probably spending little if any time at home first, and being a little sick on top of it I think it's still great all he did, especially for Otan. He was able to share his great voice along with Otan's and create even more memories for those that enjoyed the show. I like that about that show and the night before he made it about more than just putting on a great performance but to connect with the people that truly appreciate and admire him. I'm sure you'll get another opportunity though and he'll blow the roof off.
maybe after the tour aaron could take a couple months off for a break.. let his vocal chords heal a bit..
i agree to both pixie and otan, i love seeing staind, just to know that i'm in their presence is mind-blowing. unfortunately i've never met them, but one day i hope i do, and i'd love to play a song with aaron. i can dream can't i? lol

I'd pay to see Aaron, even if he'll just talk for the whole night, just his presence there is enough, knowing that I'm in the same room or in the same building with him is enough.

Exactly...just to know he is around...somewhere...it just feels good
Some day people are going to pay to see you too. :)

That's exactly how I feel, Otan!
It was incredible! We were all so proud Saturday night to watch Otan play for Aaron!
